From Lockdown to Innovation

Based in Melbourne, Shane used the ‘mundane’ of 263 days (yep, you read that correctly!) of lockdown across 2020 and 2021 to channel his ‘cardiac’ blood flow to his brain. He explored a business ‘pivot’ that would change the game. With 30 years of experience at the cardiac ‘frontline’, Shane contracted his echo services to various radiology and cardiology practices around Melbourne.

He decided, rather sensibly I might add, to dabble in his ‘bread and butter’. He tapped into what he saw as an opportunity to showcase his own cardiac ‘acumen’ in the ECG electrode market. And so, the C+UE ECG electrodes, complete with two ‘world-firsts’, were created. These include ‘Zip lock’ bags and a see-through window at the front of the packet. This design allows users to easily view the electrode type and the number of electrodes left in the packet.

Expanding the Product Line

Following the success of the ECG electrodes, Shane introduced a supply of quality blood pressure monitors. The all-in-one, portable upper arm model is used daily in his own stress echo services.
